RZR Mini Multiplexing Part 4 – Testing

RZR Mini Multiplexing Part 4

I load the test code onto the development board. The design for the prototype board from OSHPark is verfied. I complete some simple verification of design related to the outputs and light load testing.

KICAD OSX Package with NGSPICE Simulator Enable.

I put this together for testing.  Package download is below (At Very BOTTOM).  You will need to homebrew a non-standard ngspice (doesn't have ngspice lib by default).  Its avail here https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jmaibaum/homebrew-core/8ac02ae933c4cd5d1f661b6a2bda2f429d5f1e87/Formula/ngspice.rb . KiCad Librarian on OSX MAC

Screenshot 2015-02-17 16.27.23This tool comes in handy for organizing kicad footprints and modules.  Unfortually it doesn't build on osx normally.   I have created a homebrew repo and after ignoring some build errors it seems to compile and work great on OSX.

The main site for the tool is at http://www.compuphase.com/electronics/kicadlibrarian_en.htm.

My homebrew repo is located at https://github.com/shaneburrell/homebrew-kicadlibrarian

KICAD Mac OSX Build – BZR 4002

I found it difficult to find a current build of KICAD for OSX.  Below is a build that works with current OSX.  Just unzip into Applications and start KICAD.  If there is interest I may do more frequent builds.

Compiling KiCad on Mac OSX

You'll need to build wxWidgets with this:

./configure --enable-unicode=yes --enable-shared=no --enable-monolithic --with-opengl --with-expat=builtin --enable-aui --with-osx_cocoa --with-macosx-sdk=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/ --prefix=/opt/wxwidgets-svn --enable-universal-binary

And then make KiCad:

cmake ./ -DKICAD_TESTING_VERSION=ON -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/Applications/kicad -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS='-D__ASSERTMACROS__' -DCMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES='x86_64 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/ -mmacosx-version-min=10.6' -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE:STRING='Release'

DEBUGGING ONLY!!!

./configure --enable-unicode=yes --enable-shared=no --enable-monolithic --with-opengl --with-expat=builtin --enable-aui --with-osx_cocoa --with-macosx-sdk=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/ --prefix=/opt/wxwidgets-svn --enable-macosx_arch=x86_64 --enable-debug

cmake ./ -DKICAD_TESTING_VERSION=ON -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/Applications/kicad -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS='-D__ASSERTMACROS__' -DCMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES='x86_64 -isysroot /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/ -mmacosx-version-min=10.6' -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE:STRING='Debug'
